About Us

Blake Bergstrom

Hi, I’m Blake! Great to meet you. I love being a pastor, its one of the greatest honors of my life!

My family is the best part about me! I’m blessed to have an incredible wife named Ally and four beautiful daughters who are all now married which is amazing because they keep bringing us more grandkids!

We live in Senoia, GA and love getting to be a part of this community. If I’m not at the church, you can usually find me playing golf, hiking, road biking, working out, writing sermons or just enjoying my kids and grandkids.

I have a degree in Bible from Johnson University in Knoxville, TN, and the Lord has given me the privilege and honor to serve the Church for over 20 years all over the world.

My heart is to help people feel like they belong and that they are loved by God! Having a ‘church home’ is really important in today’s world and it’s a big decision where you choose to worship and grow in Christ.

Something we say is that, “Everybody’s Welcome, Nobody’s Perfect, and with Jesus Anything is Possible!” We would be honored for you to come and experience that for yourself and consider making ONE Church your home!

Mission

“We passionately love God and intentionally love people!”

Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus replied, ‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Vision

“We continually strive to KNOW God, GROW deep, and GO love!”

Matthew 28:19  ‘Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

KNOW – Our passion is to know God and make Him known because that’s where people “experience freedom!”

GROW – We strive to grow deep through relational discipleship and help people “discover purpose!”

GO – Our mission is to go love the world so we can “make a difference!”

Values

JESUS FIRST
In everything, we eagerly pray and seek God first.

BETTER TOGETHER
When we become one, we are unified and our efforts are multiplied!

WHATEVER IT TAKES
We serve with humility and teachability.

TRY NEW THINGS
We embrace change and live by grace.

LIVE GENEROUSLY
We joyfully sacrifice our time and resources.

BELIEVE THE BEST
We listen first by leading with questions and fighting for connection.

SET THE TABLE
We give our best to prepare the house so people feel right at home.

HELP PEOPLE DANCE
We celebrate BIG, empower people and have crazy fun! … it’s just how we roll!

Our Beliefs

Watch your life and doctrine closely. Continue in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

1 Timothy 4:16

In our ESSENTIALS, we have UNITY

In our NON-ESSENTIALS, we have LIBERTY.

In all things, we LOVE BIG!

THE ESSENTIALS

We believe that the BIBLE is the inspired Word of God and the authoritative guide for our lives.  (2 Timothy 3:16 & Psalm 119:105)

We believe that GOD, THE FATHER is our Creator and the loving sustainer of all life.  He is our ultimate authority, and He directs all things according to His purpose. He is one God that eternally exists in three persons that are equal: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. (Colossians 1:16 & Matthew 3:13-17)

We believe that JESUS of Nazareth is the Son of God, He was born of a virgin, lived without sin, died on a cross to save us from our sins, and was resurrected from death to life after three days in the tomb.   (John 3:16, 1 John 5:12 & 1 Corinthians 15:1-8)

We believe HOLY SPIRIT executes the will of God in this world through humanity by leading, guiding, filling, teaching, and convicting. (Acts 1:8, John 15:26, John 16:13, & 1 Corinthians 12)

We believe the CHURCH is the body of believers who are disciples of Jesus throughout the world.  (Acts 2:42-47, Matthew 28:16-20, Ephesians 4:1-16, & Mark 12:28-31)

We believe that SALVATION is God’s gift to us, and we have the choice to accept or deny that gift.  God chose to give us grace from that sin by sending His son, Jesus, to be the final sacrifice in replacement for our sins…which makes Him our Savior. (Romans 10:9, Acts 2:38, & Galatians 3:27)

We believe that God has a plan for humanity. The Bible teaches that to receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we respond to Him by believing in Jesus, confessing that He is Lord, repenting of our sin. (Luke 24:45–47; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1–7; Romans 10:9, & 2 Peter 3:9)

We believe that BAPTISM is our response to Christ, which unites us with His death and resurrection.  We want to be like Jesus and do what He asked of us, so we practice baptism by full immersion just like Him.  (Romans 6:1-6, Matthew 3:16, Matthew 28:19, & Matthew 3:11)

NON-ESSENTIALS

We acknowledge that there are peripheral, non-essential doctrines that are important to fellow believers but may not be critical to salvation. While ONE CHURCH may hold positions on these non-essentials, we will not allow these doctrines to cause division within the church.

When we say that “everyone’s welcome,” that includes people who have differing views on the nonessential doctrines.  We believe that diversity of belief and ethnicity is what strengthens us.  We want to be a place where people are safe…always seeking to understand, always giving grace, and IN ALL THINGS, WE LOVE BIG!

History

OUR MOVEMENT:
We are an independent, non-denominational church, which is part of the Restoration Movement.  The heart of this movement is to strive for the unity of all Christians.  We want to focus on what unites us, instead of what divides us.  We recognize that we are not the only Christians, but Christians only.  The Bible is our guide so we  “speak where the Bible speaks, and we are silent where the Bible is silent.”  As the prophet Micah said, we want to be a people who “act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.”

OUR LEADERSHIP:
Most importantly, we believe that Jesus is the head of the Church and we all submit to His ultimate authority. Under His authority, we operate as a “staff-led, elder guarded” church. We trust in the pastoral leaders who are called by God to lead this church. Our Elders are men who love this church body, who meet the qualifications of an elder found in the scriptures, and who dedicate their wisdom and time to keep the pastoral staff accountable. We also believe that every person alive is created equal in Christ Jesus, and so we want the collective gifts and abilities of the entire body put to work.

OUR STORY:
Our church was founded in 1997 and our original name was “Heritage Christian Church.” We have changed the name to one that communicates the heart of Christ and reminds us of who He wants us to become “one Church!” In John 17, during His final hours, right before being arrested, Jesus makes a request to God, six different times, saying, “may they be one!” We are still praying that same prayer, which is as relevant today as ever in history.
