ONE Kids
Discipling Kids to Know God, Grow Deep, and Go Love.
We believe we can have our greatest impact when we are partnering with our parents in the disciplining of our kids to know God, grow deep, and go love.

Here in ONE Kids we use the Gospel Project curriculum by Lifeway in all our classrooms. Our curriculum incorporates hands-on activities, games and engaging discussions, as they explore and apply the story. The Gospel Project curriculum takes kids on a chronological journey through the Bible, showing them how scripture points to the gospel of Jesus in every lesson. Our Sunday mornings include kids’ worship, Bible storytelling, and small group classroom activities.
Hi! My name is Lori Barentine. I was born and raised right here in Fayette County, GA. I married my high school sweetheart, David, and we have built a beautiful life together with our three amazing children Breanna, Annalee, and Cole. We have seen God’s faithfulness throughout our lives.
I pursued a career in teaching and went on to get my master’s degree in Learning Disabilities, so that I could be a better teacher for my students. It has been amazing to see how God has used my education in all seasons of life in the classroom, at home, and now in kids’ ministry. In June of 2020, God graciously chose me to become the ONE Kids’ Pastor which had been my heart’s desire for many years. What a gift to be given the opportunity to share Jesus with kids every day and love on people.
In ONE Kids, I want to provide a highly relational environment where everyone feels seen and known. My prayer is that we can come along side our parents and partner together to raise up spiritual warriors for the kingdom, all while having fun doing it because that is how I roll! I am excited to meet you!
FAQs
Are kids welcome in service?
Yes, we will always operate under what is best for your child. However, we encourage you to consistently attempt to have your child participate in our ONE Kids environment.
Can I stay in the classroom with my child?
Parents are welcome to come into the room with the other adult volunteers, to ease the transition if that is what is best for your child.
What time does check-in start?
Our doors open at 8:45AM and 10:15AM for check-in. We ask parents not check in before these times to allow for our volunteers to prepare the environment for our families and allow for smooth transitions between services.
How will my child be kept safe?
We provide safety stickers for both the child and parents. Our volunteers will only release a child to the person with the security sticker matching the child. Once service has started, the main doors to ONE Kids are locked.
How would I be contacted if I needed to be reached for some reason while my child is in class?
You will receive a text if we need to reach you regarding your child. We will ask you to come to the ONE Kids check-in.
What will my child learn?
We use Lifeway curriculum that takes your child through the whole Bible. You can preview it here.
What resources are provided weekly so that I know what my child learned in class?
Be on the lookout for the Weekly Activity Sheets that we send home each Sunday. This is a great resource and tool that allows you to engage in follow-up conversations with your child regarding what they learned at church.
Is there a place for nursing moms?
We provide a “nursing mom’s room.” It is located inside the Go Love Shop near the coffee area.
What type of training/background checks do the volunteers have to do before serving as a kid’s volunteer?
Our volunteers complete a ministry application, background check, and anyone 16 or older completes online Ministry Safe Child Protection Training. All volunteers meet with our Kids Pastor and participate in a volunteer training class.
What should I do if my child needs a buddy in class to assist them?
We have buddies that serve in our classrooms at the 9AM service to provide support. The classes are smaller and provide a calmer environment. You can reach out to Lori Barentine, Kids Pastor, by email in advance or talk to our first-time family volunteer at the welcome desk when checking in your child.
